Jim Sands came from a musical family, but it was many years before he found the singer within. This tale is about the musical ups and downs that helped Jim to find his own voice. Jim Sands is an East Vancouver based storyteller, actor, songwriter, musician, and occasional clown who has performed both as a solo artist and with a variety of musical groups. Jim has developed several long-form storytelling performances that have been part of Fringe Festivals across Canada. In addition, he is a regular performer at the Vancouver Moth Storytelling event and teaches storytelling at community centres and schools across the Lower Mainland. He has appeared in productions organized by Vancouver Moving Theatre, Community Arts Workshop, Hollywood Kidz, and the Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival. An experienced guitar, ukulele and dulcimer player, Jim performs regularly at venues such as Vancouver Farmers Markets, Granville Island, and other Lower Mainland locations.
