Sammy Chan is a dedicated arts management specialist from Hong Kong with extensive hands-on experience in organizing exhibitions, community art projects, and marketing communications. Currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University, Sammy's research interests include the intersection between art and faith, particularly Christianity and contemporary visual arts, cross-cultural identities, social diversity, and ecological arts. Sammy is passionate about developing innovative initiatives to promote creativity and social diversity. Her previous working experience with marginalized communities, especially artists with disabilities in Hong Kong, has profoundly shaped her perspective on social innovation and sustainability. She envisions the transformative power of creativity and is dedicated to advocating for strategies that recognize and celebrate the talents and voices of individuals. As an Asian woman, recent immigrant, and mother of a toddler, Sammy has firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities of navigating cultural adjustments and language barriers.
