76 year-old Dalannah Gail Bowen is a blues/jazz/gospel singer who has been singing since she was twenty years of age. She is considered “the matriarch of the Canadian blues scene”, and has been inducted into the NY Blues Hall of Fame and Vancouver has designated December 11 as “Dalannah Gail Bowen Day” for her community work and contributions to the city’s music scene.
Dalannah recently released a CD, IN MY OWN WORDS, a compilation featuring “the best of” selections of her recordings.
