Coast Mental Health
Coast Mental Health is a Vancouver based non-profit, we know that people living with mental challenges can thrive in our communities if they are given the right resources: housing, support services and employment and education opportunities. Our approach is client-focused and community-based. The people we serve – our clients – take the lead in their recovery, working side-by-side with Coast’s team to set goals and decide which services and programs will best help them meet these goals. They also play a key role in the overall success of the organisation, whether as peer support workers, members and volunteers at our Clubhouse or Resource Centre, or part of our governance board or Planning & Partnership committee.
Coast’s Resource Centre is a place to come by for a meal, to do laundry, have a shower, shop in a low-cost canteen store, and socialise. The Resource Centre meets people where they’re at and focuses on building relationships, trust and helping people improve their health and pursue recovery. In addition to offering low-cost breakfast, lunch and snacks, it’s home to some of Coast’s most popular and successful support programs, such as the member-run art room, community garden, peer support worker program and the homeless outreach program. Other regular programs include music classes, Coast bus trips, Acupuncture, and Karaoke.
