The 2023 Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival (VOAF) will take place in person for the 6th year at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre. Additional satellite events throughout Downtown Vancouver during the month of October are currently in development – more information coming soon!

Performance Centre

Located indoors, the Performance Centre is accessed through the exhibition hall. The Performance Centre is equipped with a large retractable projector screen, bleacher seating, a stage at floor level, and is equipped with a lighting and sound system. In the event that weather conditions limit the use of the outdoor space, performances will take place in the performance centre. 

Capacity: 200 – 300 (Layout and COVID-19 regulations may impact this number)

Accessibility: This space is wheelchair accessible and there is reserved seating in the front row.

Exhibition Hall

Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival (VOAF) artwork will be featured in the Exhibition Hall, which will also include an art sales table and information desk. Originally a repair shed for train engines, the Exhibition Hall retains much of the original post and beam architecture, and even some railway tracks which remain embedded in its polished concrete floor. Natural light, high ceilings, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a dramatic space, well-suited for large gatherings, parties, exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, performances, and weddings. 

Capacity: 400 (COVID-19 regulations may impact this number)

Accessibility: The exhibition hall is wheelchair accessible, has a wheelchair accessible washroom, and seating will be available in the space for rest needs.

Turntable Plaza

An outdoor performance space that is located outside the Exhibition Hall space. Depending on weather, VOAF performances will take place outside. Tents, heating, and seating will be available where required. 

Capacity: Details to come.

Accessibility: The wooden flooring has a dynamic up-lighting feature, while the perimeter of the main stage area acts as arena seating. The turntable, stage, and plaza area are all accessible by wheelchair.

Public Transit: The Roundhouse venue is easily accessed by the Skytrain and by bus. The Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line Station is 200 metres from the venue (Buses 6 & C23 stop within feet of the Roundhouse).
